Refugee Council supports refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Founded in 1951, it provides a range of services including advice, advocacy, integration support, assistance for those in detention and research on refugee issues. The organisation advocates for the rights of refugees, offers practical assistance and works to ensure fair treatment and support for those seeking refuge in the UK.
The Trust Fundraising Team is well established. It raises £1.1m per year, and the team have great existing funder relationships, including Comic Relief, National Lottery Community Fund, Lloyds Bank Foundation, Barrow Cadbury and City Bridge.

Key responsibilities
- Manage relationships with trusts with a potential or actual income of £100,000+ supporting a team income target of c.£1.1m.
- Line manages a Senior Trusts Officer and Senior Trusts and Statutory Officer supporting them with guidance and feedback, objective setting, regular one-to-ones and team meetings.
- Developing cases for support, proposals, reports and budgets, working with finance and services colleagues.
- Prepare applications and reports, holding face-to-face meetings, making calls, and organising visits to see Refugee Council’s work.
Ideal experience
- Track record of securing five or six figure funding from trusts, and multi-year gifts, achieving income targets.
- Line management or supervision experience.
- Experience of delivering a prospect research programme.
- Passionate about Refugee Council’s mission and values.
