Why this role matters
In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for keeping the DNS service running, a core function that keeps the internet running for millions of people as they go about their everyday life.
The role will include proactive maintenance of the platform and reactive fault investigation and resolution. A key part of the role will be working in a tight knit team and being able to operate under pressure.
The role could in future include a 1 in 4 out of hours rota commitment.
You will be working on critical national infrastructure including broadband, using virtualisation and agile delivery techniques.
You will be part of a great and supportive based around the UK who help make the internet safe for the 38 million customers on our platform.
You'll have the following responsibilities
- Respond to any callouts whilst on-call in a timely manner, analysing the issue and restoring service.
- Offering support to the on call engineer if necessary
- Flexibly plan, test and install any changes to the DNS Network.
- Monitor and maintain service for the DNS and Parental Control platform, updating and automating this wherever possible.
- Ensure legal security requirements are met.
- Share knowledge with the wider DNS team, making sure everyone is up to date with any changes that have been carried out. Or any training materials for the platform.
