What this role is responsible for:

The Tutor Manager is responsible for the overall communication and management of UK & EU Tutors ensuring tutors and students have a supported and professional experience at Crimson. You will work closely with the tutor team being the main point of contact, answering queries, monitoring and communicating KPI data, providing observation feedback and supporting other related teams via allocation queries and recommendations etc.

The key focus of the Tutor Manager is to communicate effectively to maintain a strong tutor team that is reliable and performing to a high standard.

The Tutor Manager will be a highly organised individual who is happy to work independently on a range of tasks and is able to complete tasks in a timely manner whilst always communicating effectively.

On-going tasks

Main responsibilities: Tutor management & allocation; data analysis; and general administrative team support.


  • Provide support with tutor recommendations for all UK & EU services.

  • Provide tutor support (answering questions, offering advice on specific students etc).

  • Coordinate Tutor management/discipline (chasing up tutors to accept allocations, dealing with complaints appropriately, dealing with mid-season resignation).

  • Completing session observations on a regular basis and providing feedback

  • Monitor team KPI data and collate monthly overview report

  • Ownership of certain Slack channels and replying to questions and requests

  • Ownership of tracking Tutor training via the Crimson App reports

  • Organise bi-annual pay reviews for all tutors

  • Communicate Tutor related updates and provide training materials when necessary

  • Any other related tasks required by the UK & EU Admissions Team


What success looks like:

  • Managing the UK Admin Inbox and ensuring all communication is replied to in a timely manner

  • Proactively monitoring tutor KPI data, communicating this to tutors regularly, supporting tutors to meet their KPIs and creating and presenting results to the team during team meetings

  • Observe tutor sessions on a regular basis, particularly supporting newly onboarded tutors by providing feedback using Crimson resources and rubrics

  • Ensure tutors are providing a professional service to students which includes making sure allocations are replied to and accepted in align with tutor KPIs

  • Dedicating time to communicate with other related teams via email and on Slack which can include tutor recommendations and handling tutor complaints

  • Support newly onboarded tutors with their training via the Crimson App making sure that it is completed aligning with expected timelines and that they are ready to begin accepting allocations and delivering sessions

  • Attending regular team meetings and updating colleagues and management on the progress of any ongoing tasks and day to day management of tutors

  • Ensuring any complaints are handled quickly and professionally and reallocation requests are prioritised

What qualities and skills would help you succeed in this role:

Required:

  • High level of resilience: demonstrates a positive outlook, recognises when to ask for support, the ability to work independently, communicates effectively even when handling complaints, open to feedback

  • Professionalism & customer service attitude: Acts professionally at all times, for example when dealing with reallocation requests due to an unsatisfied client, handles customer complaints and criticism constructively by listening, ability to show patience and empathy in all situations, a services mindset showing genuine care and the desire to help others, a willingness to go above and beyond

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills:, can make people feel at ease, extensive experience in people management, advanced English proficiency both verbal and written

  • Data management; highly skilled using the Google Suite, spreadsheet creation, presenting data analysis and the ability to communicate data effectively e.g. sending tutor KPI data via mail merges

  • Teamwork & collaboration: highly organised and exhibit effective time management, result-oriented, effective problem solving skills with a can-do attitude, exhibit a positive attitude and a growth mindset in the workplace

Advantageous:

  • Prior relevant knowledge and experience in education/ mentoring/ coaching/ youth development

  • Knowledge of college admissions and international education systems
