Job description

A career within Tax Technology services, will provide you with the opportunity to work directly with senior Information Technology professionals within PwC, as well as with our clients, in order to provide specialised assistance to troubleshoot and resolve issues surrounding the technical application aspects of our tax technology solutions. Our team is responsible for acting as the direct liaison with information technology professionals at PwC and our clients by providing specialised assistance to troubleshoot and resolve issues with our tax technology solutions. You'll focus on utilising proprietary web applications and managing technology support.
As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to build and train machine learning models alongside our subject matter experts.
We'll give you the skills to also build and maintain Generative AI and deep-learning integrations and collaborate with our product teams to provide product feedback internally and to our clients.
In a team which is at the forefront of machine learning technology, you'll also develop hands-on experience testing early prototypes for new machine learning and AI products.
Throughout your Work Placement you'll also have the opportunity to attend educational webinars and conferences to enhance your technical understanding of the industry.
What you'll do
Build, train ML models with our subject matter experts to drive workloads
Build and maintain both our Generative AI and deep-learning integrations
Attend educational webinars and occasionally travel to meetups and conferences
Collaborate with our Product team to provide product feedback and test early prototypes for our new ML & AI features
Machine Learning
Our mission is to build powerful machine learning tools and solutions to drive insights and solve complex problems. Reporting to the Director of AI in Tax, you will join the Tax Technology team in building Generative AI Tools, training ML models, and creating engaging, educational technical content for our clients and wider markets.
The Tax Technology team works closely with the end-user teams to provide feedback and test early prototypes.

Undergraduate Work Placement
  • These eleven-month placements are for students who need to complete a placement as part of their degree. You'll work alongside experienced professionals on live and interesting projects. So you'll get a good insight into working life at PwC

What you'll need
  • You'll need to have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.
  • To be a second year undergraduate university student on a four-year degree expecting to do a Work Placement in your third year.
  • Experience in software engineering or ML model development on a machine learning team in an academic or professional environment
  • Ideally to have written blog posts and/or social media threads that explore and push the limits of open or closed source LLMs such as Llama, GPT4, Claude, etc
  • Willingness to try new things, document and learn from them, and iterate quickly
  • Ability to work autonomously in the self-directed, fast-paced environment of a startup
  • A curious mind and a proactive, kind, and collaborative approach to your work
