Our client is an established Chartered insurance broker in Leeds who have experienced an exciting period of growth over the past few years.
Due to this they have restructured their leadership team and looking to add an Underwriting Manager to be responsible for their highly successful schemes department.
Key Duties:
- Management of a number of Delegated Underwriting Authority Schemes, with the largest being for Motor Trade
- Overall responsibility for a £10m GWP book
- Profitable underwriting and management of those schemes
- Leadership of a team of 4 Underwriters, with the support of an Underwriting Team Leader
- Ability to negotiate, analyse, and conduct profitability testing and analysis of schemes
- Producing reports for the MD based on retention, new business and growth
- Conduct one to one’s, reviews, and training for new and existing colleagues
- Manage relationships with clients and Account Executives
Qualifications & Experience:
- Underwriting experience, ideally with Delegated Underwriting experience, either from within a broking or underwriting environment
- Ability to lead and motivate those around you
- Good knowledge of Motor Fleet and/or Motor Trade risks is essential
- Experience of working with Acturis is desirable, however full training will be provided
- Cert CII qualification an advantage
