Job Title: Unqualified Teacher

Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester

Salary: GBP20,000 - GBP27,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

We are recruiting for an Unqualified Teacher to join our team at Brookthorpe Hall School located in Gloucester.

Job Purpose

You will be motivated by your belief that every pupil can achieve and reach their potential. The ideal candidate will be resilient, have a calm and engaging demeanour and enjoy working with pupils.

The successful candidate may regard this as a stepping-stone to teaching. Whilst previous experience of working within an SEN environment would be desirable, the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Responsibilities:

• To be responsible for delivering a curriculum subject for which you have an appropriate qualification
• To prepare, plan and assess teaching sessions as part of each young person's education programme
• To teach classes, groups and individual pupils within the framework of the National Curriculum and programme where appropriate
• To maintain an awareness of curriculum developments both locally and nationally
• To be responsible for the planning of schemes of work for specific areas of responsibility

About the School

Brookthorpe Hall School is a specialist provision providing full-time specialised co-education for young people aged 7 to 16 with a range of complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour. This may include social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
