ClearCourse Group is a rapidly growing collaborative of disruptive technology innovators dedicated to building brilliant software and payments solutions. We were formed in 2018 with investment from New York-based private equity firm Aquiline to build a portfolio of complementary software with our own integrated payments platform and professional service businesses.
We have 40 brands located across the UK and internationally, with two primary UK ClearCourse hubs, in which multiple brands are located in London and Preston. These market-leading software businesses form our five verticals; with our integrated payments platform, ClearAccept intrinsic to the entire organisation.

Now, we are seeking an experienced, creative, and strategic Head of User Experience to join our team and drive the development of user-centered design across multiple brands within our Retail division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the UX department that supports the division's growth and business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of skilled UX professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of user-centered design solutions that meet product needs and adhere to industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of UX activities, working closely with product management, development, and marketing.
- Establish and maintain UX best practices, methodologies, and tools for efficient and effective design and research processes.
- Track and report on UX metrics and key performance indicators, driving continuous improvement within the department.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and delivering complex UX projects using Agile methodologies.
- Strong knowledge and experience with UX design tools and user research methods.
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining design systems and style guides.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful user-centered design solutions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience working in the retail sector.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies.
- Experience with data analytics and using data-driven insights to inform design decisions.
- Knowledge of user interface (UI) design principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and design sprint processes.
