Job description

Musk Process Services is part of the Edwin James Group, a leading independently owned property and infrastructure support services company delivering integrated building and facilities management services. 

We are now looking to recruit a Utilities Engineer to join our site-based team in Manchester. Reporting to the Engineering Site Manager the Utilities Engineer will be responsible to provide reactive support as well as planned maintenance activities. You will carry out maintenance on the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), inclusive of the RO Plant.

  Responsibilities  

  • Carry out WWTP routine operations and maintenance.
  • Carry out mechanical fault finding and repair of all systems and aspects associated with the plant operation.
  • Ensure a comprehensive record of all daily activity is recorded in a formal logging system. This will include permeate levels, conductivity etc.
  • Co-ordinating all WWTP area Statutory Plant Insurance Inspections in accordance with Kellogg Factory Insurance Inspector.
  • Log and report simple operational data as required for the plant.
  • Co-ordinate ordering of WWTP/RO chemicals and schedule of deliveries.
  • Ensure all standby machinery is run up and checked once a week.
  • Be responsive in assisting Utilities Engineers that are on-call in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Ensure that all emergency safety devices are routinely checked and tested in accordance with site procedures.
  • Escalate any plant operational issues to the Site Engineering Manager.
  • Carry out continual site monitoring to manage site environmental compliance.
  • Respond to crisis management through extended cover, call-ins and remote monitoring.
  • To actively and analytically fault find.

Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ level 3 / Recognised apprenticeship in Engineering
  • Commitment to safe working practices.
  • Experience with RO Plants and Waste Water Treatment Plant.
  • Ability to read engineering diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with digital maintenance planning software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to    meet business needs.
