We're well underway to achieve this through building and scaling our company design system - a collection of reusable styles, components, patterns, and standards. The team are responsible in making sure the system is effective, efficient, and scalable, enabling the community to design, build and deliver high quality accessible products and services consistently.
Our modern design system is more than just for creating great apps. It's increasing the profile of user-centric and accessible design, building products that meet user needs and saving money by not duplicating effort.
Responsibilities
· Lead the evolution and expansion of the design system, aligning it with the overall design vision and business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute a design strategy that supports product development, user experience and accessibility improvements.
- Lead a team of junior/mid UX designers, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design solutions into the development process and ensure the design system meets both user and business requirements.
- Drive the implementation of new design components, patterns, styles and interactions.
- Implement user testing methodologies or research plan to validate and refine design solutions and components within the design system.
- Foster a collaborative environment where input from various teams is considered and integrated into the design system.
- Design and create high fidelity design assets and components in Figma.
- Champion user-centric and inclusive software. Design intuitive experiences that are compliant to WCAG 2.1.
Experience
· Proven experience as a UX designer with a focus on design systems.
· Strong leadership skills with experience task managing and mentoring designers. In-depth knowledge of design principles, interaction patterns, and user-centered design methodologies.
· Proficient with design tools such as Figma.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts and strategies. Experience working in an agile development environment.
Task
To help evaluate skills we'd like the submissions to include a small design task.
Ideally using Figma, design and build a functional component. A toolbar or action bar which could sit at the top of a table containing a large amount of data or at the top of a page of search results. You might want to design functionality for filtering, menus, icon buttons and other quick actions.
