Overview of the role

Our Pharmacists are clinical leaders who deliver a full range of  professional services, ensuring outstanding patient & customer care.  Working  Saturday 6am - 2pm 

Main Responsibility

The Role:

Patient Safety, Quality and Standards

  • Deliver regulatory, professional and NHS standards developing a culture of continual improvement
  • Meet the GPhC or PSNI standards for registered professionals for all areas, including premises
  • Support the delivery of all quality standards required by the NHS
  • Continual review through audits, observations & risk assessments
  • Responsible for legal & ethical decisions in the pharmacy and communicating effectively with other pharmacists operating within the registered premises
  • Delivering Care
  • Fully participates in NHS and private services, providing outstanding care to all patients
  • Actively seeks ways to provide new clinical roles through independent prescribing and private services
  • Responsible for the clinical and accuracy assessment of prescriptions & engaging patients in shared decision making by working collaboratively with the Customer Service Team
  • Collaborates with PCN’s and LPC’s, working to improve patient health & prevent patient harm
  • Ensures that they engage the team to personally offer tailored advice & products for prevention, treatment and wellbeing of patients & customers
  • High Performance Team
  • Supports the Digital Pharmacy Operations Manager and Team Leaders in the development of a team of trained & motivated colleagues who have the capability and are empowered to deliver excellent patient & customer care
  • Constantly seeks opportunities to develop their own skills & competence, striving to operate at the top of their license
  • Supports with the effective training of the team so that they achieve the required level of competence & achieve qualifications within set timeframes
  • General
  • Support our ‘Delivering Well’ strategy through alignment of pharmacy activity to corporate strategy

Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Qualified & registered with the GPhC or PSNI
  • IP qualified (desirable) - We can put you on the IP course. 
  • Excellent communication & consultation skills
  • Effective coaching skills
  • Strong planning & organisational ability – able to manage conflicting priorities
  • Able to build & maintain highly effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent professional network through building relationships based on mutual trust

Problem Solving & Change:

  • Has sound decision making abilities
  • Is adept at identifying problems & devising solutions which are based on sound analysis
  • Is a change-agent who actively embraces & consistently drives change across the Pharmacy
  • Able to influence stakeholders on matters relating to their area of responsibility
  • Able to understand the changing Pharmacy landscape & likely impact on the business
