Role:
Validation Technician

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday- Friday

Salary: Depending on the level of experience

Location: Glasgow (Office based)

We would like to hear from entry-level candidates, as well as senior Validation Technicians.

Reporting to the Validation Manager, the Validation assistant will aspire to learn to validate all of the equipment systems on site from pipette calibrations, thermal mapping chambers, and spectrophotometer calibration to computer system validations.

The role will require calibration and maintenance of equipment and administrative duties. Progressively competence will be developed in the use of the multiple databases required for effective equipment and quality management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support to Operations with the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures preparing records of these activities and recording history events in the equipment database.
  • Routinely calibrate laboratory equipment or engage the services of an approved subcontractor following scheduled requirements from the equipment database.
  • Perform equipment validations on new equipment following receipt in accordance with the equipment Validation Master Plan.
  • Perform routine scheduled requalification of equipment in accordance with the equipment Validation Master Plan.
  • Prepare Validation Reports following the qualification of equipment.

Qualifications
  • Degree level or HND/HNC qualification in Engineering or Scientific discipline (Relevant experience in industry will also be considered).

Experience

  • Experience working in a GMP QA/QC or equipment support department, providing operations support to a laboratory or biopharmaceutical industry (Other high-quality regulated industrial experience may be a suitable alternative).
  • General experience of the safety aspects when dealing with electro/mechanical equipment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Computer literacy.
  • HNC or higher in scientific or engineering discipline.
