Valuer/Trainee Valuer (Fixed Term: 1 year - Maternity Cover)

Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas. The Assessor for the Valuation Joint Board is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for three Councils (Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire) and in that capacity is responsible for maintaining the Register of Electors and Absent Vote Lists. The Board employs approximately 45 people and our office is at Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ.

We are looking to recruit a Valuer/Trainee Valuer to work within our Valuation Team for a Fixed Term period of 1 year to cover maternity leave.

Applications are invited from Members/Associates of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Graduates with an RICS accredited degree with relevant experience in an Assessors Service or equivalent experience in the land and property sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, the negotiation of appeals with council taxpayers, ratepayers and professional agents and shall assist with the preparation of evidence for cases that proceed to the Local Taxation Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal.
