Vehicle Examiner

Location: Bradford
Reporting to: Senior Vehicle Examiner.
Salary: £32,820.63
Working hours: 38hrs p/w Mon-Fri 0700 -1500
Permanent Full Time
Main purpose of the role is to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards in accordance with central engineering standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Main Areas of Responsibility
-Carry out vehicle examinations in line with engineering SOPs.
-To fully comply with all HS&E legislation along with Group policies
-Maintain and develop technical skills.
About you
-Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent.
-Must be aware of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects (Spot checks/enforcement) and annual test.
-Are you fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment including, hydraulic vehicle lifts, pressurised oil and waste systems, battery chargers and starters, trolley jacks, scaffolding, pressure wash and automatic washing equipment, headlamp alignment tester, hydraulic jacks and testing equipment, drilling machine, torque wrenches, pedestal grinders and general portable equipment (i.e., air guns, drills, electric and pneumatic hand tools etc) as required?
-Will you attend appropriate underpinning training opportunities such as NC in Supervisory Management and Engineering and/or Corporate Membership of IRTE and to complete them to the suitable standard within an agreed timescale?
-Do you hold full PCV licence?
-Are you willing to show flexibility in respect to working hours and job roles to ensure that commitments are fulfilled?
