Our engineering team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join us to ensure that our maintenance program is completed and that every vehicle going through the process is maintained to company and DVSA standards.
What we are looking for?
We’re looking for a qualified PCV/HGV technician, with experience of working on commercial heavy vehicles to join our team in Cardiff.Don’t worry if you’ve not worked on buses before – if you can fix cars, trucks or plant our team of engineers and managers will support you throughout your development with us.
You will be able to diagnose and repair vehicle faults to a high standard and be committed to continue your technical development, with you already holding a recognised qualification in vehicle maintenance.
A full UK driving licence is essential, and we’ll train you to hold a PCV licence after a qualifying period.Our engineering team work on a rota pattern covering all hours of operation, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the key areas of responsibility are, but not limited to the following,
- Completes tasks diligently and safely.
- Able to work on areas outside of your main trade where required.
- Communicate with management team any potential problem areas with vehicles.
- Process repairs inside and outside of the depot
- Efficiently diagnoses defects and their causes.
- Complete vehicle defect clearance where required.
- Complete vehicle recovery and change overs when required.
Pay and Shifts
The standard pay rates are as follows, overtime is paid at a higher rate after 39 hours.
Monday – Friday £20.53 per hour
Saturday – Sunday £25.45 per hour
