The Opportunity

Medivet Knypersley in Staffordshire have an opportunity for a part time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join this talented team.  

The practice is led by our Branch Partner and Lead Veterinary Surgeon Richard who is highly dedicated and has keen interest in dentistry and orthopaedics. You will also be fully supported by the rest of this experienced team which includes a Head RVN and Practice Manager.

The practice can provide digital x-ray, dental x-ray, inhouse blood analysers and ultrasound services, alongside Medivets unique hub and spoke model, allowing access to diagnostic equipment at our local 24-hour hospital including multi parameter, CT scanner, endoscope and a laparoscopic kit. The practice has been working very hard towards gaining the ISFM cat friendly clinic registration.

This a part time opportunity of an average of 30 hours per week which includes a fair weekend rota with TOIL.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have. In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
