Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced vet to join our Orrell Park practice in Liverpool.

We are pleased to offer a rare opportunity for the right candidate to work as a lead vet alongside our dynamic Branch Partner, Andrew McVey at our Medivet Orrell Park clinic, with a team which includes a Head RVN a team of RVN's and CCA's.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon seeking a position where they can take on a leadership role in an established clinic, whilst working alongside and getting the support of an Branch Partner with over 10 years experience.

The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced team. You will need to be competent in a small animal practice, you must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player and have a passion for delivering outstanding care to your patients, as well as a first-class service to your clients.

The role is full time working 39 hours per week over 4 days giving you a great work/life balance with 1:6 weekends. There is no OOH's and use of facilities at our nearby 24 hour hospital including CT.

Role Accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
