Veterinary Surgeon - Harpenden

Remuneration:

£45,000 - £55,000 per year

The Opportunity:

At Harpenden, we have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Consulting only Vet. We are currently open Tuesday's and Thursday's so on these days you will be sole charge however, you will work closely with our sister branch Redbourn which is where all surgeries are carried out. It is a busy clinic with a varied caseload.

Our Harpenden practice consists of two consult rooms and large reception with a separate staff room. You will be working alongside a friendly, close-knit team including our experienced Head Nurse and RVN. For our sister branch Redbourn, the team currently consists of two vets, two RVNs, SVN, few PCAs, two CCAs and a practice cat.

We feed into Medivet Watford as our local hospital where we normally run our ultrasounds, CT scans, orthopaedic surgeries and overnight hospitalisations.

The practice is situated on a picturesque country road with a local park nearby and convenient parking right outside the practice. The town centre is just a 10-minute walk away, offering a variety of amenities.

This particular role is very flexible in terms of working hours, we are open to both full and part time hours. Full time includes 4 days per week with 1:6 weekends, covering 2 days at Redbourn.

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
• Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
• Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
• Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
• Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
• Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
• Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
• Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
• Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
