About Us
We currently have 13 Vets, all with different interests at work and hobbies at home. Individuality is embraced here, and we encourage growth within the whole team. We believe a stick in a bundle cannot be broken. We work together, using each other’s strengths to bring the best outcomes for our patients.
As an Independent Practice we are hugely proud of what we achieve each day, the people inside team that make it possible and the unwavering support from our community. We opened our main hospital 10 years ago, re-homing an abandoned, 200-year-old barn surrounded by the gravitational fields of Norfolk.
What is a Vets 1 Vet? Put simply, someone who wants to give their patients and clients, the best care possible.
Fiercely Independent. Ferociously Unique.
The Role
We currently have 13 Vets, all with different interests at work and hobbies at home. Individuality is embraced here, and we encourage growth within the whole team. We believe a stick in a bundle cannot be broken. We work together, using each other’s strengths to bring the best outcomes for our patients.
As an Independent Practice we are hugely proud of what we achieve each day, the people inside team that make it possible and the unwavering support from our community. We opened our main hospital 10 years ago, re-homing an abandoned, 200-year-old barn surrounded by the gravitational fields of Norfolk. Today we are an RCVS Tier 3, and ISFM ‘Gold Standard’ Hospital. We are open 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our barn is stashed full of funky toys, including DR X-Ray, Olive the CT, Cardiology Level Ultrasound, Bespoke Dental Suite accompanied with Dental X-Ray, and a Vanishing Cabinet which is home to our array of scopes.
In 2020, we welcomed our second practice into neighbouring King’s Lynn, situated in an Old Bank, epitomising modern-industrial elegancies. Its clinical facilities mirror similarly to those at our hospital in the aim to ensure every patient has access to first-class care and equipment, no matter the location. All team members spend time at both practices to enhance team morale and provide cohesion. We are a single team, working over two locations. No separation, no competition.
Things that are important to us...
- Our People. You will be supported by 12 exceptional Veterinary Surgeons. A dedicated front of house team. An incredible, 24-strong nursing team. If you are looking for selfless colleagues, who do the very best for their patients, want to strive to keep up to date with research, work and play hard and yearn for continued development. You’ve found a bunch of people to share those values with.
- Personal Development. We encourage growth within all areas of the practice. Our front of house team enrol to the BVRA and our nurses are encouraged to do further certificates or diplomas in areas of interest, you will be encouraged to do the same. At present, we have Certificate Holders in Surgery and Medicine, with others looking to finish theirs in Ophthalmology, Cardiology, ECC, and Surgery. We have a graduate entry scheme, which aims to provide new graduates a more structured and supportive start to their Veterinary career, as we are aware that this can be a daunting and challenging experience.
- Eco-Friendly. The world is changing, and we want to do something about it. Our hospital runs on renewable energy, we hold a Bronze Award for Investors in The Environment and are headstrong in achieving our Silver ‘Investors in The Environment’ Award in the next 12 months.
Our standard working week is 4 days, with 1-in-5 weekends. We manage our own nights, with a working shift, currently 1 block of 7 nights every 10 weeks, with 7 days recovery following. The front door is closed between 12.30 and 1.30pm so you can have an uninterrupted lunch and enjoy important ‘you’ time.
Although this is our standard rota, we are open to being flexible. We understand that people and their lives are unique and would always be happy to discuss other options.
