Working With Us
The founder and sponsor of the Harris Federation, Lord Harris of Peckham, opened our first school in 1990. We have, over the past thirty years, implemented ideas and initiatives that have transformed the opportunities of pupils from working class and disadvantaged backgrounds. Harris academies are widely recognised as a force for social mobility. We are immensely proud of the role that our alumni are now beginning to play in the world and of what we believe our current generation of pupils will go on to achieve.
The Harris Federation has a track record of accomplishment in achieving success through rapid school improvement and has built an unrivalled reputation for running outstanding academies. We now have over 50 schools educating more than 40,000 young people across London and Essex, and employ over 5,000 staff across our academies and head office. With the majority of our academies located in areas of high socioeconomic disadvantage, a high-quality education is key to the futures of the pupils we serve.
Main Areas of Responsibility
The role will be multi-faceted and you will be supporting leaders in implementing robust pastoral and behaviour strategies. Working closely with the Assistant Director and Executive Principal for the Central Quadrant you will work across Academies as directed, improving standards and the outcomes for our students. As a senior leader, you will have the opportunity to develop and advance your career within a supportive network and gain experience of working across Academies. You will have unrivalled opportunities for progression.
What We are Looking For
We are looking for an outstanding senior leader who has a proven track record of whole academy pastoral leadership. You must be flexible and be prepared to work across academies supporting, mentoring and coaching senior leaders as well as supporting whole Academy Behaviour and attendance strategies and also be prepared to run behaviour, ‘on the ground’. The post would suit an ambitious Vice Principal looking either to broaden their expertise and responsibilities and who is considering a future leadership pathway to their first headship.
