Job Description:
Vice Principal required at a school in the Middle East region to oversee data, curriculum, and instructional practices at the school. This is a critical position at the school and the candidate should have multifaceted experience with all school operations (Human Resources, Budgeting, Teacher Professional Development, etc). This position reports to the Principal.
Achieving academic excellence requires that the Vice Principal works collaboratively to lead and nurture members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with parents and members of the community. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for discipline of students, supervision of staff, curriculum development, program evaluation, supervision of extracurricular activities and financial management.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Working knowledge of K-12 level American Curriculum
- Curriculum/Instruction – The ability to work with staff to identify assessments, concepts and skills. Using Data Management for learning results, and to contribute guidance and assistance to staff in planning and implementing curriculum utilizing appropriate instructional strategies. Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on student progress
- Supervision/Evaluation – The ability to supervise and evaluate staff, programs and activities through knowledge and the commitment to contribute to the improvement of instruction and the effectiveness of programs in general
- Participate in quality improvement activities by assisting with the development, implementation and review of standards, policies, procedures and guidelines, evaluation of indicators and reporting of outcomes and trends
- Community Relations – The ability to relate positively to the public; a view of the community/school relationship as a partnership; recognition of the need to be visible and active in the community and understanding the importance of considering community needs and wants
- Participate and maintain a visible presence at special events, school activities, functions and extracurricular activities
- Educational Leadership – The ability to inspire, motivate, guide and direct staff in setting and achieving the highest standards of educational excellence
- Professional Development – The ability to contribute to the professional development and growth of staff that raise aspirations and expertise
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree from a recognized University in the US, UK, CA, AU, NZ, ZA (Preferably in the US as they teach an American Curriculum)
- Master Degree in Education, Leadership Qualification
- A TEACHING LICENSE for High School Subject Teaching (Preferably from the US)
- Excellent English communication skills and could pass an IELTS at level 7 or TOEFL at 102 level
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience at High School grade levels with an American Curriculum (preferably in Middle East region)
- Minimum 10 years experience as Vice Principal of High School using the American Curriculum
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment
Contract Details:
Monthly Salary Range: TAX FREE Salary $8,168 - $9,500 USD depending on qualifications and experience depending on qualifications and years of experience
Housing: Yearly Housing Allowance of $21,000 - $24,500 USD depending on qualifications and years of experience
Health Insurance Coverage: Provided for employee only. Candidate is responsible for dependents
Annual Air Fare: Cash equivalent of Annual Return Air Fare for employee only. Candidate is responsible for dependents
Relocation air ticket also provided at beginning and end of contract for employee only
Annual Leave: In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the country Labour law. Minimum 30 work days per year
Dependent School Fees: 100% discount for first child and 50% for second child attending same school as employee
Visa and Medical Check Fees: VISA fees and Medical check done in the country for Residency Visa are paid for by the school for Employee only
End of Service Benefit: Receive 21 days Basic Salary for each full year of service. Plus economy air ticket to place of permanent residence according to Labour Law of the country
