Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city and we currently have exciting opportunities in the Department of Early Yearsand Primary.

We are seeking Visiting Lecturers to support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and school placement visits. We are particularly looking for tutors to support a range of Foundation Subjects, Mathematics, Science and Professional Studies.

Essential: You must have extensive experience teaching in a Primary School and have either a background in ITE or mentoring trainees on an Undergraduate or PGCE course.

The role will include teaching, marking assignments, as well as providing pastoral and academic support to our trainees. You will be required to visit trainees on their school based training placements, which will include travelling to trainees.

We are dedicated to providing our trainees with the very best learning and teaching opportunities to help them develop both professionally and personally. Therefore, your role will be key in supporting our trainees through to employment.

Applicants should also have excellent organisation, time management and presentation skills and a genuine passion and enthusiasm for developing and supporting the next generation of teachers.

You will be working with a supportive and experienced team, who are all committed to Initial Teacher Education and the developing portfolio of the Department.

You must hold Qualified Teacher status
