Your role will include the recruitment, selection, ongoing support and supervision of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess organisational needs to determine number and range of volunteers needed for particular departments, services or projects.
- Day to day management of volunteers for example drawing up rotas, processing expenses etc.
- Consult with colleagues to create descriptions for all volunteer positions.
- Manage the volunteer recruitment process by advertising for available volunteer positions, interviewing candidates, and matching them with appropriate roles.
- Prepare and deliver an induction programme for new volunteers, including training, handbooks and materials
- Working with the Training & Development Manager, develop and deliver ongoing training for volunteers.
- Create and distribute information regarding volunteer policies and procedures.
- Develop meaningful relationships with volunteers to aid retention and promote Hospice advocacy.
- Meet with volunteers to assess their progress and satisfaction, provide ongoing support and conduct performance evaluations or skills audits.
- Cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere by recognising volunteer efforts and assisting volunteers with their own endeavours.
- Maintain a database of volunteers and projects.
- Present updates and metrics to colleagues and senior management in writing.
- Co-ordinate and manage a volunteer communications plan for the year to include communications, engagement opportunities and events.
- Promote the organisation, its volunteer efforts, and its accomplishments internally and externally.
- Establish and manage links with key Agencies in the field of volunteering e.g. Volunteer Now, local Volunteer Centres and Voluntary Action Rotherham.
- Contribute to articles, news stories and content to help raise awareness of volunteering opportunities and impact that volunteers make to the charity’s work
