Volunteer one-to-one driver

Role Overview: To provide a driving service to members of a charity that supports people who are visually impaired to attend medical and personal appointments.
Example of duties depending on skills and experience:
Driving members to medical and personal appointments, in and around the West Sussex area Waiting with members whilst they attend the appointments, ensuring that they are present for when the appointment finishes Driving the members back home On occasion, assisting within appointments (if appropriate) by note taking or support, if needed

- Friendly, conversational, helpful and flexible to support charity service users / members and the team
- Maintaining confidentiality for SSW members
- Sensitivity towards each member you are working with Organisation
- Able to prioritise and deal with a variety of tasks
- Confident in route planning and good timekeeping
Requirements
- Full clean driving licence
- Access to your own transport that is suitable for visually impaired passengers, possibly with limited mobility Our drivers charge SSW members fuel costs and any car parking/toll fees, at 50p per mile as recommended by the UK Government
