Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work in the Equalities Team within Citizens Advice Staffordshire North & Stoke on Trent.

 

We are recruiting a Volunteer Support and Development Worker (VSDW) to join our Welcome Advice Team.

 

Welcome Advice provides advice to vulnerable migrants in North Staffordshire.  The VSDW will engage, recruit, train, coach, and support members of local migrant communities so that their lived experience informs the development of Welcome Advice and other local services and organisations.  We would especially welcome applications from individuals who, themselves, have lived experience of the immigration and/or asylum system.

 

The Volunteer Support and Development Worker will be a member of both our Immigration and Refugee and Asylum Teams, working closely with both teams.

 

Candidates must:

 

  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Be able to manage deadlines.
  • Have experience of working with the public.
  • Work well within a team.
  • Have a good level of IT skills (Microsoft 365)
  • Be able to follow our policies and procedures.
  • Be able to observe confidentiality.
  • Be able to understand the importance of Equality and Diversity in their work.
