This role & opportunity

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that will directly and significantly impact our growth?

As the Vice President of Banking at Weavr, you will be at the forefront of our journey towards success. Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer and collaborating closely with our top-tier senior management and execs, you will have the exciting responsibility of cultivating and managing relationships with key banking, payments, and financial services partners. Your role will involve leading an accomplished Banking function and close collaboration with our dynamic internal teams in Product, Technology, and Compliance to innovate and deliver cutting-edge financial services products and solutions to our valued customers.

Your influence will be profound as you craft and execute a comprehensive financial services strategy, directly contributing to the enhancement of Weavr's competitive advantage and the realisation of our ambitious growth targets. Furthermore, your critical role in fostering cross-functional partnerships to meet financial demands and ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities will be instrumental in our industry-shaping journey.

Responsibilities:

Craft and Execute on Strategy:

  • Shape, plan, and execute our banking, payments, and financial services strategy, fuelling Weavr's revenue growth and market dominance.

  • Provide cutting-edge competitive insights, staying ahead of industry trends in the dynamic embedded finance ecosystem.

  • Balance risks and opportunities, offering innovative solutions to protect our competitive edge.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver market-leading products.


Forge Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and engage key global banking and payment partners, negotiating deals that accelerate growth.

  • Lead proposal efforts for financial institution Partnerships and manage partnerships from inception to execution.

  • Ensure competitive economics in commercial deals, fostering sustainable growth.


Effective Stakeholder and Team Management:

  • Influence stakeholders and partners, fostering a positive and inclusive culture.

  • As the business expands, lead recruitment, training, and performance management.


About You

  • Domain Expertise:
    Deep banking or payments expertise in an international setting with Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licensing being highly beneficial, along with proven experience of innovating and commercialising digital financial products driving product, capability, and partnership success.

  • Proven Sales Prowess: A track record of successfully planning, managing, and closing complex, competitive sales efforts, overseeing deals from negotiation through delivery.

  • Strategic Vision & Implementation: Possession of strategic thinking and thought leadership, with a history of effectively implementing initiatives and operational decisions.

  • Holistic Problem Solving and Collaboration: The ability to connect and collaborate strategy, product, design, and technology to solve intricate problems.

  • Executive Presence: Experience operating at a senior level with strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling large-group presentations.

  • Adaptability and Pressure Management: Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex, ambiguous startup or tech enabled businesses, influence senior management and stakeholders effectively, and balance business priorities under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional organisational skills with a keen attention to detail, adept at correlating data and trends to business drivers, and skilled in utilising data and metrics to convey needs and opportunities.

  • Lead by Example: A team-oriented, diplomatic, and flexible approach to leadership through influence and example.
