Job description

Mowi Feed is the feed manufacturing division within Mowi, the Global leader in salmon farming, processing and marketing. Having entered production in June 2014, Mowi Feed has quickly established itself as a competitive supplier of salmon feed playing a key role in supporting Mowi Farming in its delivery of high quality, nutritious, safe and sustainable salmon.

Currently operating from its factories in Kyleakin, Isle of Skye in Scotland and in Valsneset in the Trøndelag Region of Norway, Mowi Feed has an annual production volume in the order of 500,000 tonnes per year. We manufacture a broad portfolio of conventional and organic feeds for both fresh and seawater phases of salmon growth in Scotland, Ireland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Norway.

The Role – Warehouse Leader

Mowi Feed is seeking a highly motivated working supervisor to take on the exciting and challenging tasks in an expansive, dynamic and international environment. The feed plant runs 24/7-365 and the successful candidate will need to be flexible around working patterns/hours. The duties undertaken will include the following:

  • As a working supervisor you will lead the team, monitor and optimise the packaging, stack and load bagged goods, and support the discharge of raw materials.
  • This is a hands on role, where loading vessels and packaging are part of your standard routine.
  • Responsible for development and training of the Warehouse team.
  • Ensure paperwork for deliveries and loadings is completed by the team and accurate.
  • Responsible for Warehouse organisation - ensuring the stock management systems are up to date.
  • Collaboration with the planning department on the daily work schedule and communication of the shift plan to the team.
  • Ensure stocktakes are completed on time and accurate.
  • Assist with the development of Risk Assessments and SOPs for departmental operations.
  • Ensure adherence to Company Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Ensure work areas are maintained to a high standard, adhering to plant hygiene policies and procedures
  • Participate in LEAN / 5s activities to further develop quality and efficiency
  • Participate in routine maintaining/cleaning of equipment
  • Ensure robust delivery of QA procedures and full traceability at key process stages and of finished feed product; testing, recording and analysis of test results against product specification parameters
  • Support other operational departments when required

Experience/Skills

  • Process and industrial experience, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Experience working with HSE systems
  • Well-developed IT skills, including a proficiency with MS Office and bespoke IT systems
  • Good communication skills which requires fluency in English, both written and spoken
