UCH Logistics is a dynamic, customer focused provider of specialist transport services to the airfreight industry. Established in 2000, we have built a reputation for offering reliable time-sensitive and next day deliveries throughout the UK.
We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to join our team, on a full-time permanent basis.
This role will oversee the daily activities of all Warehouse Operatives ensuring a high standard of service is provided to customers and drivers. This role is very hands on, is based in a fast paced environment, and will require a flexible approach.
This is a varied role within our busy Export Warehouse and will include, but is not limited to the following:
- Using your knowledge and understanding of worldwide freight forwarding operations to ensure maximum operational efficiency whilst observing high levels of professional customer service.
- Fostering a first-rate working relationship with internal stakeholders, as well as building and maintaining an excellent rapport with our external parties including airline sheds, customers and all interested freight forwarders.
- Be the managing interface between our current Transport & Operations team, and both import and export facilities.
- Assisting with conducting of risk assessments, supporting the development of mitigating strategies where appropriate
- Supporting the building and management of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Take responsibility for the Warehouse Operative team for induction, training and development, sickness cover and holiday planning.
- Manage the document processing with particular focus preparation for the next shift’s activities.
- Providing out of hours assistance when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of and experience in the transport and logistic industry
- Knowledge and understanding of worldwide freight forwarding operations
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) within the aviation industry
- Experience in managing warehouse operations
- Ability to communicate well with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to offer guidance and support and to arrange appropriate training for all warehouse ops
- Good commercial awareness and decision making skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and operational systems
Desirable Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in team management
- AVSEC level CM Trained
Hours & Shift:
- 07:00 - 19:00
- Tuesday - Saturday
In return, we offer:
- £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- 28 Days Holiday, rising to 30 after 2 years (incl public holidays)
- Immediate start available
