Warehouse Operative

Reed Talent Solutions are working with Cadent Gas on the search for a Warehouse Operative. Working as part of a logistics team and assisting the Site Management team, you’ll be responsible for picking, receiving, and managing materials within the supply chain. You will work in an effective and compliant operation across all responsible activities and ensure adherence to all legal, operational, and SHE procedures, interacting with internal operational customers. You’ll be required to organise your own work in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines.

Working as a Logistics/Warehouse Operative you can be sure that no two days will ever be the same. This is a high-paced role that requires quick thinking and exceptional organisational skills.

Role Details:

• Location: Mersey Road North, Hollinwood, Manchester, M35 9FF
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 5 weeks
• Working hours: Onsite Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
• Rate: £12.71
• Interview process: Short-listing call with Reed, informal phone call with cadent Gas

Responsibilities:

• You’ll be responsible for picking, receiving and managing materials within the supply chain
• Can marshal loads for despatch and load vehicles safely and effectively
• Picking and packing and carry out all work associated with issue and receipt of materials, plant, tools, equipment, and road traffic signs and barriers, via a warehouse management system
• Undertake the verification of stock levels as required, and control of process for non-stock & PPE items
• Operate and use mobile plant, mechanical lifting and handling equipment, and other equipment properly and safely; ensuring that they are correctly checked, maintained and stored
• Site waste management

We're looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience:

• 2 years' experience within a similar stores/warehouse environment
• FLT licende
• A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations, including Hazard reporting and safety conversation competent
• Good reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Excellent customer service & clear communication skills, with focus on attention to detail
• Computer literate
• Always committed to safety - Acting safely and encouraging others to do the same
• Trained to NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in distribution and warehousing (not essential)
