Warehouse Operative

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our team. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for various tasks related to materials handling, picking and packing, building, and maintaining the warehouse. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and the ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities:
- Receive, store, move and book goods in and out on the stock system

- Accurately pick and pack customer orders by due dates ensuring the relevant paperwork is attached

- Assign goods received numbers to delivery notes and complete and file relevant paperwork

- Escalate any issues or queries with stock and deliveries as appropriate

- Ensure labelling on products is accurate at all stages of processing

- Support on stock takes as and when required, ensuring stock control systems and kept up to date

- Report any stock shortages and request internal stock transfers using the relevant forms

- Ensure that equipment is maintained and in a good and safe working condition

- Securely wrap pallets of stock ready for transportation

- Ensure transportation of chemicals / stock is done in compliance with H&S standards

- Label and quarantine out of date or damaged stock

- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the warehouse function according to 5S principles

- Load and unload trucks using proper equipment and techniques

- Operate a forklift to move materials as needed

Skills:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment
- Proficient in materials handling techniques
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Familiarity with operating a forklift safely and efficiently

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
