Job description
General
- Education Requirements are a minimum of GCSE English & Maths Grade 4
- Competent using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook & Microsoft Excel
- An attention to detail is essential for this role.
- Previous experience of receiving and despatching stock in a warehouse environment preferred.
- A current and valid licence to operate a Fork Lift Truck would be beneficial to the applicant
Hours of Work
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30 with a 30 minute lunch break
Goods In
- Check all goods received against delivery notes and Purchase Order for discrepancies
- Sample check cartons for quality and quantity
- Highlight delivery discrepancies to the Logistics Manager
- Receive the delivery into stock, passing paperwork to Logistics Manager and log serial numbers into tracking spreadsheet where relevant
- Label all incoming stock with ATE stock code including delivery date for bulk pallet storage
- Store incoming stock in the relevant racking in the warehouse and mark location number on paperwork
Goods Outwards
- Pick and pack stock for issued sales orders – note no stock is to leave the premises without relevant and authorised documentation
- Complete courier / transport company labelling for outgoing stock
- Record serial numbers in the Serial Number Tracking Spreadsheet where appropriate
- Complete the courier manifest / transport company and obtain relevant signatures upon collection
- When stock is picked, remaining quantities should be checked against system stock levels and any discrepancies highlighted immediately
- Highlight any discrepancies or stock availability issues
Customer Returns:
- Goods returned by customers must be logged and accounted for
- Returns should be noted to the Logistics manager and then recorded in the returns
- Any replacement stock must be dispatched using official paperwork
Stock Management
- Complete weekly stock takes in the warehouse as directed by the logistics manager on a rolling basis
- Assist with bi-annual full warehouse stock taking process
- Notify the Logistics Manager of any potential upcoming stock shortages or low levels of stock
- Ensure that all stock entering or leaving the warehouse is accounted for and reported
- Ensure that all stock is in the correct warehouse location and is tidy
- If stock is moved between different locations in the warehouse the new and old bay numbers should be noted, the quantities checked against the stock management system and the location of the stock updated on the stock management system
General Duties
- Ensure the warehouse is clean and tidy at the end of every shift
- Ensure lights and power are switched off at the end of every shift
- Ensure shutter and shutter gate are closed and locked at the end of every shift
- Supervise the activities if any temporary warehouse staff are employed
- Monitor packaging material stock levels and liaise with Logistics Manager regarding replenishment
Manual Handling Equipment
- Only operate MHE if in possession of a current and suitable licence to do so
- Complete the weekly checklist for the manual handling equipment
- Ensure MHE is charged and ready for use
- Always operate MHE in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
- Always operate MHE at low speeds with extreme care for your surroundings
Health & Safety
- Any machinery or MHE equipment should be operated with caution for yourself, others and the fixtures and fittings
- The mobile access trolley ladder should be used for accessing stock in higher storage locations. Care should be taken when using this apparatus to ensure you are not overloaded and can safely move up and down the steps. If stock is too high the pallet should be brought down to floor level and returned to the storage location after the stock has been added / removed.
- Any hazards should be immediately removed or if this is not possible reported to Management immediately
- Hazardous materials should not be handled unless the relevant training has been given
- PPE will be supplied by the company and must be used at all times whilst in the warehouse
- No personal electronics are to be connected to company equipment or power sockets without prior approval
- The use of personal mobile devices is not allowed inside the warehouse
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.50 per hour
