Warehouse Operative / Yard Man

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Operative to join our growing team at our Manchester depot.

Shifts: Monday - Friday 11:30 - 20:00, overtime available.

This will attract an unsociable hours pay enhancement of 1.5 x basic hourly rate for work on weekend and between hours of 21:00 – 05:00 (night shift allowance).

FLT experience is preferred, but not essential. Forklift training (In-house) can be provided to the right candidate.

The post-holder must also be prepared to undertake physical manual-handling tasks, and have prior warehouse experience.

You will be expected to:

· Keep the company’s and our customer’s information secure at all times.

· Operate the fixed shredding, baling and weighing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner as required.

· Complete company and supplier’s paperwork as necessary.

· Load and unload company and suppliers’ vehicles as required.

· Maintain the warehouse in a safe, clean and operationally effective condition.

· Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment as required.

· Undergo an in-depth check of their employment and residence history.
Be prepared to undertake security checks up to UK Government SC level including a DBS check every 3 years.

· Abide by all health & safety law, company policies and procedures.

· Undertake any and all appropriate training.

· Ensure timely and effective communication with the Depot Manager and wider Management Team takes place as and when required

· Be responsible for their own, their colleagues, the customers and the general public’s health and safety during the course of their work activities.

· Carry out such other responsibilities and activities as can reasonably be required in accordance with the nature of the post.

· Ensure that services are provided in accordance with the company’s standards, equal opportunities and the objectives of quality assurance.

PLEASE NOTE: This role involves working in a warehouse, which can be dusty. Although all HSE regulations and guidance are strictly complied with and appropriate PPE provided, this environment may be unsuitable for individuals with dust allergies or respiratory illnesses.
