Your responsibilities
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Operative to join us here at thyssenkrupp Materials UK! As the Warehouse operative role, you will be picking material from the racks for customer orders or to supply poli-coaters, guillotines etc. you may be operating or assisting in operation on some of these machines once trained. You may also be required to load or unload vehicles and scan away to a rack location whilst adhering to quality and safety procedures. Working on a rotating shift basis you will ensure a positive handover for the following shift to exceed customer demands
Our central warehouse and head office, also known as 'Cox's Lane', is located in the heart of the West Midlands in order to meet all customer demands. We are a Warehouse & Logistics provider, our capabilities include plate, bar and extrusion cutting, guillotining as well as protective laminating coating.
40 hours a week
Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri Week 1: 6am-2pm. Week 2: 2pm-10pm
Your main duties will include:
- Loading and unloading lorries
- Preparing customers' orders
- Racking, stacking and identification of incoming stock
- Checking of incoming and outgoing deliveries for quality and quantity
- Driving forklift trucks when authorised to gather material for the jobs and record all information on job sheets
- Operating any warehouse machinery as directed, eg. guillotines, saws, polythene coating machines, etc.
- Ensuring we have warehouse traceability
- Working from drawings you will be required to accurately set various machines and produce parts to order
- Use appropriate measuring equipment
Your profile
Essential experience, skills and knowledge:
- Valid Forklift Truck Licence
- Good organisational skills
- Reliability and dependability
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Self-motivated
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks
- Team player
- IT competent for use of scanning system
