Warehouse Operative (Part time/Full time positions available)

Intercity Logistics are a Hatfield based specialist haulage company that provide a first-class secure service to the banking, government & infrastructure sectors, the role will include dealing with high valued items, they are seeking an enthusiastic and customer driven Warehouse Operative. This is a key role in ensuring the care of stock and quality for our deliveries, providing a prompt and professional service to customers. The Warehouse Operative will have experience in the safe and secure loading of vehicles. A knowledge of basics mathematics, as well as basic PC skills are necessary. They will report to the Operations Manager to ensure all goods are checked, wrapped, and secured for efficient distribution.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

· Checking and verifying all planned routes leaving the warehouse.

· Completing all manifests in line with customer needs.

· Booking jobs on multiple systems confirming, cancelling, and changing delivery slots as required with customer requirements.

· Update and complete all depot manifests as well as Scottish or 3rd party partners ensuring all information is correct.

· Communicating with all Depots to help book onto Inter City’s systems using customer systems for the relevant information.

· Communicating with drivers.

· Calm, reliable and positive in manner

· Be able to work under pressure.

· Be reliable, flexible, and hard working.

· Record booking discrepancies, system issues and all operational issues as part of the warehouse team initiatives.

· Basic maintenance checks on all electronic equipment such as PDA’s/Satnavs/printers

· Assist and organise internal move requirements for WH/Ops

· Answering phones and emails dealing with internal and external queries.

· Articulate, energetic and able to take the initiative and prioritise

· Excellent attention to detail

· CRB Checks & SC clearance (All staff).

· Stair-walker deliveries, (training provided)

· Safely use Pump Trucks (training provided)

· Safely use Sack Barrows (training provided)

· Pallet and trolley handling.

· PDA used on all deliveries for capture of POC/POD.

· Manual Handling, carrying stock upstairs. (Risk assessments & method statements are available)

· Required to load vehicles and using the bars and straps provided, to secure the load for safe transport when it leaves the warehouse.

· Required to ensure the vehicle loads are complete in accordance with driver manifests and safely secured in the vehicle.

· To liaise with the customer and report back to the Inter City Logistics operation centre if needed.

· Health and Safety processes to be followed at all times.

· Communicate all operational issues that may occur due to handling of kit and volumes.

· Support the Warehouse Supervisor in all functions related to the warehouse operation.

· Ensure all stock is checked against customer paperwork.

· Ensure all stock is securely wrapped to pallets in accordance with company procedure.

· Maintain the relevant health and safety regulations and company procedures.

· Manage all trunk manifests to ensure all goods are captured.

· Ensure warehouse working area is clear and hazard free.

· To receive customer returns and check against the relevant paperwork.

· To check and seal all customer trolley’s making them ready for transport.

· To help unload and palletise returning kit and/or rubbish from returning vehicles.

· To capture all amounts and weights of returning kit and/or rubbish.

· To undertake any reasonable management request.

Skill Requirements:

Essential

Fluent in English.

Be able to work under pressure.

MS Skills.

Must have good communication skills.

Be reliable, flexible, and hard working.

Desirable

Good geographical knowledge.

Ability to use IT such as a handheld computer (PDA)
