Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver

For over a century Bennett Opie Limited have endeavoured to create and distribute high quality food and drinks products for customers to appreciate and consumers to enjoy. Initially with our own retail brand, known as Opies and subsequently with our chosen brand partners.

We are recruiting a new colleague to join our Warehouse team, working closely together to support the business and our amazing colleagues across our sites in Sittingbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the team within a friendly, family and passionate organisation.

Main Purpose: To support the smooth distribution of this department. To pick orders, receive, store and ship goods at ODC and Wentworth

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load and unload vehicles using Manual Handling Equipment as required
• Pick customer orders which may include the use of Manual Handling Equipment
• Check goods received against delivery notes including the best before dates
• Move and organise stock using Manual Handling Equipment ensuring it is stored safely
• Ensure that the housekeeping of the warehouse is of an acceptable standard at all times
• Carry out any other duties as required

SKILLS:

· Excellent attention to detail

· Team player

· Able to work to deadlines

· Good understanding of health and safety, and manual handling

* previous warehouse experience desirable but not essential

Hours:

7.00am to 16.00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7.00am to 15.45pm with one 45 minute unpaid lunch break and one 20 minute paid break in the morning.

Salary:

£12.00 per hour without forklift experience / licence and up to £13.10 per hour with forklift experience and licence.
