Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Service Technician to join our dynamic team in Pulborough. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our service department, focusing on the efficient handling, inspection, and management of returned materials. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our service processes.
Main Objectives:
Coordinate the booking, transacting, movement, and repackaging of all returned materials, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the company forklift truck to unload delivery vehicles as required.
Accurately receive, inspect, and book in repair units and returned materials, entering details onto the computer system following service procedures.
Ensure that repair units are stored correctly, labelled accurately, and maintained in a secure and tidy manner.
Prepare and package repaired units for shipment, adhering to quality standards.
Provide support in the general QC inspection of incoming/outgoing materials as needed.
Manage the disposal of waste materials in compliance with COSHH/ISO14001 Regulations, including recycling packaging where possible.
Stay informed about and support EMS, improvement team activities, and ISO9001/ISO14001 requirements, committing to the company's business, quality, and environmental objectives.
Assist in achieving departmental KPI objectives under the guidance of the Customer Service Manager, contributing to the development and sustainment of the 5S programme.
Efficiently dispatch units as per requests, ensuring timely delivery.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Proven experience in a similar role within a material handling/logistics environment.
Strong IT proficiency, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
A keen problem solver with a flair for identifying and implementing alternative solutions.
Familiarity with MS Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
Knowledge of JIT and KANBAN processes is preferred.
A hands-on individual with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset, capable of multitasking and prioritizing workload efficiently. Must be adept at working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
