Warehouse Process & Systems Team Leader

Permanent Contract, Monday to Friday 8:30 - 17:00, 40 hours per week, Onsite: Stretford, Manchester.

Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a prestigious distribution centre in Stertford, Manchester.

The successful candidate will be a proven Warehouse and Logistics professional championing process improvements and coordinating HSEQ requirements. If you have experience in either a warehousing, logistics or stock control environment and have a good grasp of the importance of process improvements this could be the ideal role for you in the next step of your career.

Role Scope

The business is a supplies specialist providing over 8000 SKU's stored at two locations to large corporates.

This is a newly created role focused on improving processes throughout logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have experience of following good warehouse processes to efficiently receipt, stock, package and dispatch items from a busy distribution centre. They will enjoy looking at new technologies / systems and have a detailed mindset that can identify potential areas for process improvement as well as risks.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Good understanding of the efficiency of the end-to-end warehouse and logistics processes including goods in, receipting, inspection, quarantine, picking, packing, labelling, marking and dispatching, to ensure on time delivery of products to customers and achievement of customer contract KPI's.
  • You will be both logical and methodical, able to detail processes and outcomes, working with ERP specialists and senior Managers to consider new processes, track potential efficiency and train personnel on new ways of working
  • Whilst this isn't a full time hands-on role in the warehouse you will be keen to learn all the processes and complete all the relevant training so that you can step in for supervisors and help on the shopfloor during busy periods of work which could involve you picking, packaging, receipting and putting away stock, managing quarantine and container de-stuffing tasks as and when needed
  • You are comfortable reviewing spreadsheets and using data to inform good decision making.
  • You will be working across both an office and distribution centre environment and able to manage your time accordingly
  • Capable providing direction and guidance to Supervisors and Operatives in the warehouse
  • Confident supporting the Management team and working on key projects such as implementation of a new ERP and warehouse management system and also the implementation of a new e-commerce system
  • You will have a good understanding of basic Health & Safety legislation and work closely with internal team members and external consultants to maintain a safe & healthy work environment, acting as one of the lead H&S champions in the business, ensuring HSEQ processes are followed, documentation is accurate and up to date and delivering continuous improvement
  • Inducting, training and ongoing development of personnel
  • Assist with compiling, tracking and reviewing KPI's for the warehouse function and, where necessary, identifying trends, recommending and implementing corrective actions

The successful applicant will possess:

· Logistics supervisory experience.

· Good IT literacy, and confident learning new systems.

· Demonstrable experience of a high attention to detail.

· Knowledge of an ERP implementation is desirable but not required

· Knowledge of HSEQ related processes is desirable but not required
