About the role;
Planet Recruitment are proud to be working with a fast-growing organisation based in the Thame area who are looking for a Production Team Leader to join their NIGHT SHIFT team. The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team of around 10-15 staff, training new members of the team and ensuring a smooth process throughout the team.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 10pm - 6am, due to location you will need to drive and have access to your own transport.
Responsibilities;
- Organise the team to ensure production targets are met, tasks are completed efficiently and comply with quality and other standards.
- Ensure work instructions and materials are handed over to subsequent shifts correctly when required.
- Identify areas for improvement in efficiency, health and safety or other areas and escalate to the Production Manager
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and practices ensuring safe working practices are always carried out.
- Ensure all team members (temporary and permanent) are trained on the assigned assembly tasks and ensure they are correctly assessed and authorised.
- Ensure equipment is running efficiently with maximum use of material, resource, and time.
- Ensure maintenance is conducted in line with maintenance schedules and equipment requirements.
- Alert production manager when any tools or equipment fail to meet the requirements for which they are intended.
- Communicate information and instructions to team members.
- Ensure the team accurately maintains production records as required.
- Raise issues of continual poor performance in team with Production Manager and work with them to support employees with any performance improvement measures.
- Investigate incidents of poor quality, inefficiency and implement improvements when directed to do so by Production Manager.
Essential experience;
- Experience leading a team of 10+ staff.
- Experience with machinery and production lines.
- Minimum of 2 year supervisory/managerial experience
- Full Driving licence
- Great positive communicator
