Manpower is currently recruiting for Waste Porters in a local hospital, the ideal candidate MUST drive for this position due to using the electric vehicle around the grounds. The hospital is collecting a combined figure of around 1300 tonnes a year of, clinical waste, offensive waste, general waste, recyclable waste and other waste streams. They recycle where they can, and take the business of managing waste on site very seriously; they cover 365 days of the year making sure the site is clear of waste working together with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. It is a physical and fast paced job, every day is different and presents new challenges.

- Shift patterns can be flexible between 6am - 6pm, example of one of the set shift patterns - 6am-2pm, 7.00am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm.
- £11.45 an hour
- Waste Porter role, full time - 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
- MUST have a driving license for this role
Main duties of the job
- Collection of clinical, domestic, recycling and other special waste items from wards and departments in line with the Trusts Policy and Procedures.
- Segregation of all waste streams prior to collection by waste contractors.
- The weighing and logging of clinical waste bins and electrical appliances.
- Collection of soiled laundry from wards and departments for storage prior to collection by the laundry supplier.
- To collect and deliver furniture and other equipment as required from corridors, wards and departments as detailed in job request sheets.
Essential
- Valid driving license.
- Proven experience of working with the general public.
Desirable
- Recent experience of hospital waste disposal.
- Recent experience or previous experience working with the public/ customer services
