About the opportunity

Water Network Engineer
Jacobs has secured multiple multi-year Contracts and Projects with leading Clients in the UK, Ireland and across the Globe. Water is looking for skilled people to deliver on these fantastic opportunities in the Water Industry and beyond. We are seeking Clean Water Network Modellers in Edinburgh who are looking to grow their careers in exciting new ways.
Successful candidates will join a team of nearly 600 Water Professionals, working on a range of high-profile projects and become a part of a World Leading Company with excellent career prospects. You will be delivering project tasks, designs and working with Clients on water infrastructure at various stages in the project life cycle, working within our multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budget.
Here's What You'll Need
Successful candidates will:
  • Have worked in multi-disciplinary teams to help deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets and to exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Have delivered on a wide variety of projects such as water trading, large capital design, water quality and network optimisation.
  • Be a motivated and innovative person who embraces new technologies. We will support you to convert your innovative ideas into practical solutions that tackle the challenges facing the Water Industry.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist the growth of our Water team. We will support and encourage you to raise our and your own profile across the wider Industry
  • Maintain strong and collaborative working relationships and interactions with our Clients.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by providing technical guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Passion for taking on new challenges with Clients in the Water Industry.

Here's What You'll Need:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the operation of clean Water Networks and modelling, and able to work autonomously in the delivery of different types of projects. Knowledge and experience in leakage management will be a plus.
  • You solve problems by developing and adopting innovative approaches and using both data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate project findings skilfully and clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent presentation and written skills. Able to prepare technical reports and deliverables, ensuring quality of modelling outputs and compliance with standards, specifications and governance requirements.
  • Be working toward obtaining Chartered status with a professional institution.
