Lead Design Engineer
- Undertake LDE role for Wastewater Infrastructure scheme solution identification, definition and outline design.
- To act as the first point of contact to have single point accountability and leadership for technical design matters for a number of projects within a Water Utilities Capital Programme within a defined geographical area.
- Co-ordinating the design team to deliver the required outputs under the design manager.
- Delivering on optimised projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets.
- Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.
- Complying with quality systems and processes so outcomes meet all standards.
Person Specification
- Educated to degree level
- Chartered Engineer or outstanding role specific experience
Required Experience
- Track record of success in leading the technical delivery of significant capital Projects at a senior level within the Water Industry.
- Has either significant experience in water infrastructure design, with a focus on trunk mains or wastewater infrastructure design, with focus on rising mains
- Understands the designer’s responsibilities under CDM.
- Has proven process improvement design and implementation capability.
- Has broad industry and business knowledge and experience in complex investment-type decisions.
- Ideally has consultant and client-side experience.
