Your New Role...

We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to join the Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Sports Events Management team, reporting to the Head of Events.

Working across both Mountainbike and Track Cycling, You will be responsible for working with local organisers and key suppliers to ensure all events are delivered to an exceptionally high standard. Excellent communication skills are essential in ensuring internal and external coordination, and critical for liaison with colleagues across WBD teams, in particular our Sports team who lead on all elements of the competition.

This is a demanding and exciting role that requires meticulous event planning skills, high levels of motivation and energy. You will need a determination to get things done, and the ability to plan and deliver multiple events in parallel. As events take place globally, including EMEA, North America and LATAM, international travel is required. Hybrid and remote working would also be considered.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Manage the delivery of events that form part of the UCI Mountain World Cup, and UCI Track Champions League calendar through liaison with Local Organising Committees (LOC), WBD Sports colleagues and series suppliers, creating and promoting a culture of teamwork, strong relationships, best practice and clear planning and delivery frameworks.

  • Ensuring that the needs of all event Functional Areas and Client Groups is scoped and delivered either by the LOC or WBD Sports supplier(s).

  • Develop and implement series wide best practice ensuring WBD Sports and LOC teams work to a single, coordinated event plan with clear documentation around plans and delivery.

  • Manage WBD Sports relationships with identified suppliers across the season and ensure delivery standards are of the highest possible standard.

  • Identify innovation in event delivery to help raise the profile of the sport.

  • Contract management of identified LOC’s to ensure agreed actions are taken and that LOC’s work to the agreed timeline.

  • Support procurement of key WBDS suppliers through scoping, tender process and contracting to ensure clarity of delivery scope, budget and deliverables.

  • Develop positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identify and control risk for the series, limiting liabilities and involving stakeholders with mitigations to eliminate or manage any risk.

  • Develop and manage event specific budgets, create forecasts and reports to update the Head of Events through the different phases of event planning and delivery.

  • Represent the aims of WBD Sports by delivering events that elevate our events in Mountainbike and Track Cycling to amongst the most respected sports in the world.

Qualifications and Experience...

  • Proven experience as event manager, including events delivered internationally

  • Experience of outdoor sports events, preferably in the cycling industry

  • Project management, financial and budget management and demonstration of management and leadership skills

  • Developing relationships with new and existing partners

  • A good understanding of health and safety and risk assessment through large scale event delivery

  • Delivery of best practice across multiple sites
