An exciting opportunity to work within a talented in-house team within the Design department of a successful business based in Stevenage.

The Role

As a Web Designer & Front-End Developer, you will play an integral part in designing and building websites within a bespoke builder platform built utilising an in-house CMS. You will develop and maintain high-quality and responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery - focussing on UX/UI in a talented team of 3. You will deliver efficient and sleek websites - ensuring that you implement comprehensive optimisation techniques to maximise website performance. They aim to exceed customer expectations across a variety of global clients dealing with hundreds of thousands of transactions per day! As well as this, you will be responsible for discussing new features, conceptualising and wireframing website designs, requests and building modifications. You will contribute towards improving coding practices and website building techniques.

As part of the team, you will also align with client expectations, engage in collaborative conversation with both clients and internally throughout the design and build process, providing thorough support to ensure that websites are launched and running smoothly. You will have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time and coordinate time across multiple projects. You will be a bright spark - offering ideas within the team and the business… be passionate about keeping up to date with the latest technologies and trends and be inspired to give your opinions to make a difference to both projects and the business.

Essential skills:

• Develop and maintain high-quality and responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery - focussing on UX/UI
• Knowledge of SEO and best practices for web optimisation
• Experience using visual design programmes such as Photoshop, Illustrator & Adobe XD, Figma and Mero
• Ability to articulate concepts to a wide range of audiences including clients.
• Ability to work to SLA's / deadlines.

Desirable skills:

• Any experience with leadership / management such as performance reviews
• Leading from the front in terms of behaviours and leading people
