We are a large, mixed, 11-18 academy with over 350 students in our sixth form. Due to our increased popularity as a school, we expanded our roll in 2018. Alperton Community School is an inclusive school with a student intake that reflects a wonderfully diverse and vibrant local community. Student progress at GCSE and A Level has been above national averages for many years with disadvantaged students performing well above national averages. Student attendance and the percentage of students who remain in education, employment or training are also well above national averages.
Recent awards include the 2022 Pearson “Making a Difference” Award; the school was recently shortlisted for the TES School of the Year and won the TES Maths Team of the Year. We are also one of only four schools in the country to hold the Platinum Professional Development Mark.

The Role
As Website Administrator & School Communications you will be responsible for all aspects of the schools website, social media and communications. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that, not only is this maintained, but have the creativity and expertise to further develop our digital presence.
You will work with a range of staff and young people in creating digital media content. This includes being in classrooms with teachers to managing the media around school events and everything in-between. Building and maintaining professional relationships is key to this role. The role requires someone who is a team player. Our Website Administrator & School Communications role will be at the forefront of implementing new ways to deliver information and messages.
Incorporated in the role is maintaining our “house style” for any documentation, publications, press advertising or anything that goes to print. So a good understanding of print media is also a key aspect to the role.
The Person
The successful candidate will need to have excellent skills in building and maintaining websites, a good understanding of HTML and CSS is essential. Experience using the Adobe Suite of applications for photography and design projects is also essential. Experience of working within a cloud environment would also be useful but not essential.
You will need to be able to work with a range of people - from our youngest students all the way to the senior leadership. This will require you to have patience and the ability to communicate effectively with all these audiences. As the sole person in charge of our communications you will need to be able to prioritise work and manage your own workflows in order to ensure that we have a smooth running communication strategy. You will be working in a friendly school where we place staff wellbeing at the top of our agenda.
