As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £10.78 per hour
Contract duration: Fixed term contract from early February to 3rd November 2024
Hours: These roles are based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the year. We have two contracts available. One will be for 830.6 hours and the other will be 1107.4 hours over the duration of the contract.
What it's like to work hereReporting to the Site Manager, you’ll be part of a small team working at Benthall Hall. You will work closely with a small team of volunteers who will assist on the reception and car park.

What you'll be doingWorking from Visitor Reception based in the car park, you are the first and last person visitors will see at Benthall. You will be greeting all visitors, welcoming them to the site, checking National Trust membership cards, taking admission with cash and card payments, explaining what is on offer at Benthall, orientate and point out our walks and answer queries. As a representative of the National Trust you will promote membership.
With high presentation standards and an eye for detail, you will be keeping the visitor facilities clean and presentable such as the toilets and visitor reception building. You will help with our fundraising efforts through the sale of donated goods at visitor reception and directing visitors to the second-hand bookshop. There will also be an opportunity to assist with an expanding programme of events at the property, such as Easter and outdoor theatre.
