Welder Fabricator

WELDER/FABRICATOR –
We are recruiting for a Welder/Fabricator to work for our client who are located in Barnsley South Yorkshire
THE DUTIES OF A WELDER/FABRICATOR:
* Be competent in MIG, TIG, Stick Welding
* Servicing, repairing and refurbishing heavy plant equipment
* Read and understand engineering drawings.
* Perform engine and hydraulic services and inspections on plant machinery.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
* Minimum 2 years' experience working within a Fabrication/Welding role.
* Excellent communication skills
THE HOURS:
Days: Monday – Friday 40 hours
THE PAY:
You will earn an hourly rate depending on experience of £14-15 per hour.
THE ROLE:
* Repair, fabrication, and welding of heavy plant and loading shovels.
* A very ‘hands on’ role which involves overseeing all work to ensure quality is consistently achieved regarding servicing, repairing, and refurbishing of heavy plant equipment including diesel engines, Hydraulics, Transmissions, Pneumatics, 12- & 24-volt electrics.
* Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety standards are always adhered to.
* Recycling role involves new pre-delivery inspections (PDI), demo / hire preparation and refurbishment of slow, medium, and high-speed Shredders, ECS units, Windshifters and Trommels which uses Hass and Vechoplan shredding chambers and also conveyor systems.
* Fault finding and repair of mechanical faults.
* Advising the parts department of stock requirement for new products.
* Estimate refurbishment costs and production time for traded in stock.
* Estimate delivery times and liaising with the sales team and transport department.
* Recording and raising all PDI and warranty issues so that the cost can be recouped.
* Converse with the manufactures design team regarding specific issues, log evidence with detailed reports.
* Inspect machines when required for insurance inspectors.
* Visit customer’s sites, identify faulty parts, and submit written quotes on request.
* Prepare quotations for any damaged that has been done when machines come back from demo/hire.
In the short time I have been employed by the company I have been involved with and completed a large variety of tasks on different types of machines. These include completing various repairs to CASE, JCB and Volvo Wheel loaders, Skid steers, Telescopic handlers, and forklift trucks. These include resealing cylinders, fitting and resealing valve blocks, checking and adjusting hydraulic pump pressures, rebuilding Differential Axles to suit the demands of the customer, fitting quick hitches, buckets, lifting hoists or forks depending on the application of the machine, performing Engine and hydraulic services and performing inspections on the plant machinery.
