We are currently seeking an experienced Welder/ Sheet Metal worker to join the team at this exciting time of expansion.
PAY:
£14.73ph for days
£14.73 + 12.5% shift allowance for Mornings / Afternoons (£16.57)
£14.73 + 17% shift allowance 3 shifts (£17.23).
JOB OVERVIEW:
Elevation recruitment is looking for an experienced and skilled welder/Sheet Metal Worker proficient in the fabrication and assembly of components through various welding techniques. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating semi-automated circumferential and longitudinal welding machines while adhering to stringent quality, safety, and work instruction protocols. Duties include performing regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure a secure and productive work environment. Effective collaboration and communication with colleagues to streamline workflow processes is crucial for success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and collaborate with other team members or departments to ensure efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of PPE and maintaining a hazard-free workspace.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the welding process, such as equipment malfunctions or defects in the welded materials.
- Inspect finished welds to verify they meet internal and external quality standards (NADCAP and AS9100) and adhere to specifications, ensuring structural integrity and quality control.
- Maintain records of welding jobs, such as materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered, for quality control and documentation purposes.
- Perform welding operations using various processes, such as TIG or MIG welding, to join various metal components together.
- Prepare metal components, ensuring they are properly aligned and set up for the welding process.
- Regularly maintain and clean welding equipment (machines and tools) to ensure their optimal functionality and prevent malfunctions.
- Stay updated on new welding techniques, technologies, and industry developments through ongoing training and skill development.
- Understand and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to ensure accurate execution of welding tasks
- Work on semi-automated welding equipment for both circumferential and longitudinal welds
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Essential: A demonstrated successful track record in welding.
- Essential: Experience meeting and working towards production targets.
- Essential: Familiarity with semi-automated welding.
- Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
- Experience in aerospace.
- NVQ, or qualification in an engineering discipline
- Essential: Adaptability and flexibility in various work scenarios.
- Essential: High precision and accuracy.
- Essential: Proficiency in understanding and interpreting technical drawings.
- Exceptional teamwork ethic.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to tasks.
- Strong attention to detail.
