Our client is looking for a Time Served Welder to be part of a skilled team, this role involves working to both planned and reactive work schedules within the plant, repairing and maintaining forging presses, furnaces, machine tools. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for all elements of Welding/Fabrication repairs.
Role:-
To carry out repairs and Fabrication works to a high level and responding quickly and efficiently to plant breakdowns.
To assist with the successful introduction of new/modified parts, equipment and tooling.
To ensure that high standards of health. safety and housekeeping are met.
Setting up the Sub arc welding machine, this includes aligning and adjusting the machine.
Using the machine to carry out weld repairs, as specified by blueprints, layouts, welding procedures and operating charts.
Selecting the correct voltage and power of the machine.
Visually examining welds for adherence to specifications.
Adjusting machine set up according to vary size, location and penetration of bead.
Welding materials such as Titanium, Stainless, Mid Steel, Inconel, High Carbon content steels.
Preheating surfaces, using hand torch or heating furnaces
Ability to record work progress on a computer
Burning/Lancing experience
Ability to fabricate as required.
Knowledge and Experience
Time served Welder with experience of Sub Arc Welding technics
Proven track record of Fabricating works to a high standard
Interpreting work instructions, drawings and schematic drawings
Computer literate
Able to work at heights and in enclosed spaces
You will be working a 3 shift rotation in this role, dayshift, backshift and nightshift
Starting Salary 36,023 rising to 36,767 after successful completion of probation
