SalaryA Multi-skilled Welder/Fabrication Engineer is required by a long established and respected engineering manufacturing Company. This interesting and varied "hands on" role is building various food processing equipment for both UK and export clients.
SUMMARY
- Welding and fabrication in stainless steel material 1.0mm - 12mm thickness including pipework / purge.
- Both Tig and Synergic Mig welding processes are utilised.
- Experience in reading engineering drawings, understanding tolerances / bend allowances plus experienced in fabrication and sheet-metal machinery all essential.
- Able to work within a team, either in the main production area or if applicable on a client’s site and be aware of all aspects including Health & Safety, Production, Inspection and Discipline.
OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out a policy of quality engineering when working in the factory / on site.
- To maintain standards on safety, hygiene, discipline, attendance, and good time keeping.
- City & Guilds Qualifications in welding and fabrication / Apprenticeship in a recognised Engineering environment would be an advantage.
HOURS OF WORK
You would be contracted to work 39-hour Monday - Friday with a 10-minute tea break 10.00am - 10.00am and ½ hour lunch-break 1.00pm - 1.30pm. Hours are 7.30 to 4, 4:30 and 5pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 12pm finish unless working overtime.
Salary up to £35000 dependent on experience, overtime is generally available paid at 1.5 times hourly rate Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. It is expected that a reasonable amount of overtime be worked as requested by Supervisor or Manager. Your rate is negotiated depending on experience.
