Permanent - �15.75-�16.80 p/h (Increase pending early 2024) (Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x)

My client is part of global business who provide turnkey process engineering equipment for distillery and brewery projects. The company is on an incredible journey to become a �100 million business in the next four years from their current �50 million turnover.

Their Scottish operation based just outside Edinburgh fabricates copper equipment for projects carrying out a wide range of fabrication techniques to fabricate high-end, high-quality copper vessels. The site is expanding rapidly and has grown a very strong group of craftsmen in the past twelve months and has the capacity to double its headcount in the next few years.

The company are looking to find Welder/Fabricators who have either worked with stainless steel, aluminium or copper previously who want to become a craft master in the art of copper fabrication. The company are willing to put people who have no experience with copper through an extensive training programme creating a fantastic opportunity for a career in a true craft.

The Role

Working initially as a Welder/Fabricator on general welding and fabrication, your training will be set out for you to learn all about the processes involved in working with copper. You will also be involved in fabricating and welding some of the stainless steel or aluminium products within the projects whilst learning about the rest of the craft involved.

As a Welder/Fabricator you will be responsible for:

* Shaping copper into copper distillation and condensing equipment for a wide range of projects
* General welding and fabrication tasks including MIG/TIG welding and using guillotines and press brake machines to cut and bend the copper
* This will include classic "copper smithing" work once the metal is hot
* There will be some site-based repair work when required
* Adhering to all health & safety requirements
* Welding and fabricating of other stainless steel or aluminium products that form part of the project work (such as pipework)

The Candidate

The right Welder/Fabricator for this opportunity will need:

* To want to master the art and craft of becoming a coppersmith.
* Experience in welding
* To have fabricated with either stainless steel, aluminium or copper previously.
* To be able to read engineering drawings
* Excellent work ethic
* An eye for detail and diligent working practices
