Welding Academy

The Welding Academy will provide up to 12 individuals with the opportunity to study ETCAL Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations and Certified Abrasive Wheels Training and receive practical training to prepare them for work as a welder. Successful applicants will receive a £175 weekly attendance based Training Allowance and help with travel and childcare costs. All participants who successfully complete this 6 week training course will be guaranteed a job interview with one of the supporting companies. Offers of employment will be conditional upon successful completion of the training, satisfactory employment checks and company interview. SWC will invite eligible applicants to attend an Information session and interview that will take place week commencing 22 April 2024 at the Cookstown Campus. Applications are welcome from those who meet the criteria. Successful applicants will attend intensive training at SWC’s dedicated training venue in Cookstown as listed below for the duration of the Academy: Monday 13 May to 21 June 2024. Successful participants must commit to the full time training as outlined above and any pre-scheduled commitments should be listed in your application. .
